FSAE Frame

The frame of an FSAE formula car serves as the primary structure of the car, housing all the different parts of the car while also protecting the driver in the event of a crash. To protect both the driver and the desired behavior of suspension components, the frame must be stiff enough in key locations along the body of the car. All these characteristics were considered during the process of designing the frame, alongside FSAE regulations regarding the frame.

FEA cases were conducted in Ansys Static Structural to evaluate structural stiffness and crashworthiness under various scenarios, including frontal, side, and rear collisions, as well as high-load performance cases.
