FSAE Motor & Differential Mounts

The motor and differential mounts were designed to secure the powertrain of a rear-wheel-drive FSAE vehicle developed by Northwestern Formula Racing for the 2024–2025 season. These components had to withstand not only the torque output of the motor but also the chain tension forces transmitted during peak acceleration.

To ensure structural integrity, FEA simulations were performed in SolidWorks using worst-case loading conditions derived from maximum acceleration scenarios. These simulations were then used to inform changes in design to promote weight reduction.
